Vein Treatments Questions

What are some complications that can occur after removing a vein towards the front of the knee?
Vein Treatments -1 answer
The vein I had removed ran the full length of my leg. After removal, my left leg is 4x the normal size. Is this normal?

Is it OK for my hands to be uncomfortably squeezed by my large veins when they hang by my side?
Vein Treatments -1 answer
I inherited large veins, and my hands and wrists seem unproportionate to each other. I don't know if that has anything to do with anything, but you know when your hands go down and gravity fills your veins with blood, we'll my hands feel so squeezed and I hate it. I don't know what could be done.

What causes prominent veins to appear across the whole body?
Vein Treatments -2 answers
My veins have become more prominent across my whole body. First, it started across my chest and breasts, then my feet and legs, then the sides of my hips (near my stomach). Now this morning, my arms, wrists, and hands have them. There is localized pain that feels like pulsating sharp pain around some of them, itching and also pins and needles. I have low blood pressure and often feel exhausted no matter how much I sleep. Reoccurring bruising around my legs is also another symptom.

Vein Treatments -1 answer
Does Antistax really help? Is there a clinical trial treatment that I should know about? I am really interested. I cannot afford to pay for surgery.

I've been having extreme restless legs (even during the day), paresthesia, and my legs often ache by the end of day. Tests normal. What's the cause?
Vein Treatments -1 answer
I'm 35, male, overweight but not obese. For months, I've been having extreme restless legs (even during the day), paresthesia, and my legs often ache by the end of day. Symptoms are worse when standing and are centered on the back of my legs, roughly from the ankle to the calf (the rt leg worse than the left). No swelling or visible signs. A nerve conduction test and MRI on my back/neck ruled out nerve problems. Because of this and my age, my doctor won't consider it to be a vein problem.

For the last two days, during squats I feel the presence of a vein on the right side of my knee cap in the left leg. What could this be?
Vein Treatments -1 answer
It doesn't hurt, but it's very uncomfortable during a squat. I have been a gym-goer for the last 8-9 months. I'm certainly aware of form and technique. Weighted squats are my only leg exercise. I went in another state for holidays and missed about 4-5 squat session and on return squatted 20 reps with 20kgs, my one-rep max being above 45 kg.

Six months after EVLA and phlebectomy is it typical to have a concave area and discoloration where veins were removed?
Vein Treatments -1 answer
I had bulging veins on right thigh and calf. Also, on back of left knee and calf. I had four procedures to try and correct it after developing an ulcer on my right ankle. The veins had been present more than 20 years. I removed the veins but can still see where they had been on the right leg.

Vein Treatments -1 answer
I also have visible veins in places I did not have before. I did not have varicose veins. I had legs that hurt. This started occurring after I took a position in nursing that requires a lot of sitting. Prior to that I was on med surg, etc for 25 years.

Why do my veins rupture very easily?
Vein Treatments -1 answer
I am 50, female, healthy weight. Since I was in my 20s I've had a tendency for veins to rupture internally and create huge bruises after very minor 'injury' (e.g. kicking a soccer ball, or tapping one leg with other foot while running). This happened mostly on my legs but less frequently since varicose vein surgery 14 years ago. Recently similar ruptures have appeared on the sole of my foot and on my tongue after no injury at all that I was aware of. Can you advise why this may be happening?

Would any doctor turn his AC off for a day so I can have my ultrasounds done? My veins shrink when I'm in the office so they cant see the problem.
Vein Treatments -1 answer
I've had laser treatment for my great saphenous veins in both legs. Ultrasound still confirms that they are not open. I'm still struggling with itching and very heavy legs, almost like bricks. I have spider veins that after I treat them with sclerotherapy they all got reopened. Everytime I call a doctor and explain the situation to them I don't feel like they care. All they say is 'yeah, veins shrink when its cold!' I don't know what to do.

What do you recommend for rheumatoid arthritis and varicose veins?
Vein Treatments -1 answer
I'm 26 years old. For 3 years I've been treated for RA. I have had a cyst on the back of my knee for 3 years. At the beginning, I got steroid injections but the cyst came back and nothing has been done about it. I was also complaining a lot about the varicose veins. The doctor ignored it. Only now, when I suffer from severe pain when I'm sitting I got a referral to a dermatologist, probably for laser treatment. I'm on sulfazaline. Do you advise me to use another med for RA, like biologicals?

What treatments do you recommend for prominent veins on my chest, arms, hands, abdomen, and around my mouth?
Vein Treatments -1 answer
I am a 56 year old woman with hx RA, HTN, spinal fusion from sacrum to T3 and C5, 6, and 7. I had a ventral hernia repair with mesh, abdominoplasty, and paniculectomy. I recently noticed that my veins are prominent and visible on my chest, arms, hands, abdomen, and around my mouth. I have been on Enbrel since 2005. I am concerned. I showed my dermatologist and told her that people think that I have hair around my mouth. She suggested bleaching creams which only temporarily fade it.

Can enlarged penile veins constrict and naturally fade away?
Vein Treatments -1 answer
A few months ago I used Ginkgo Biloba and this caused enlarged veins on my penis. There is slight discomfort. The dorsal vein is visible and I can easily feel it with my fingers. Is it possible to constrict enlarged veins on the penis by natural means? Can enlarged veins fade away on their own? Is Venil Gel that contains chestnut extract and Aescin safe to use?

Sore thighs after sclerotherapy. It burns and itches. I also see a hard, colored string. What do you think? Thanks.
Vein Treatments -1 answer
I had 3 foam sclerotherapy treatments with Tromboject, 5 C.C. After that I had a hard string on both legs with dark color along the string and a lot of veins appeared. I had blood evacuation in each leg and 2 series of sclerodex, 5 C.C. injections. After that, 8 big bruises appeared at the injection sites. At the end of December I went to see the Doctor. Then he did a last injection treatment with Thromboject, 25 C.C. because he thought the bruises were not linked to the treatment.

Is pain 3 years after varicose vein surgery normal?
Vein Treatments -4 answers
I had a varicose vein surgery done when I was 18. I had two veins stripped from my leg, and they also closed off a vein with radiofrequency ablation. I still experience a lot of different pain, mostly in the winter. As soon as it gets cold out, any walking around will cause a lot of pain in my leg in the area that the surgery was done. Does this sound like something the surgery could have caused?
