VenaSeal in Fort Myers, Florida (FL)

VenaSeal Closure System

The VenaSeal closure system is an effective and non-invasive treatment to close your superficial varicose veins from the inside using medical-grade glue. It is the first FDA approved varicose vein treatment that doesn’t use heat, cutting, or chemicals called sclerosants. Venaseal is almost pain-free, doesn’t require compression stockings, and has no down-time.

Uses for VenaSeal

VenaSeal is a non-invasive in-office procedure that requires no anesthetic and takes about one hour. Your doctor will make a small incision at the beginning of your varicose vein, and insert a narrow tube called a catheter while monitoring its placement with ultrasound imaging. Your doctor then injects small amounts of the viscous VenaSeal glue into your vein while pushing down on the vein and slowly pulling out the catheter. The glue will seal your varicose veins shut painlessly, and your body will naturally reroute the blood flow to nearby healthy veins.

VenaSeal recovery and side effects

Most people can return to their normal activities right after treatment and there is little risk of pain, bruising, or scarring. Unlike other varicose vein treatments, you don’t need compression stockings and you don’t have to avoid strenuous activity because the VenaSeal glue is completely set-up by the time you leave your doctor’s office. You only need a bandage over the small catheter insertion cut.

Rare side effects may include pain, burning and tingling, inflammation, blood clots, allergic reaction to the VenaSeal glue, and scarring.

Costs

The costs of VenaSeal can vary depending on your area, physician, and health coverage.
