I had RFA (ClosureFast) for GSV in the right leg for varicose veins.
2 weeks later, I had superficial thrombophlebitis/phlebitis, which was painful/tender just below the knee on inside of leg (medial side of leg). The "line" was ~ 3 cm along treated GSV. This faded with Voltaren gel.
Since then, I have pigmentation only in this area. My concern is sometimes the pigmentation looks a bit "more" red, usually after exercise. No pain or swelling. What could this be? U/S showed successful closure.

My friend had to report back the next day to check. My procedure is scheduled for a Friday and I am not reporting back to the doctor for a clot check until the following Monday. Also, how does one know he/she has a clot? What does one do if he/she experiences a clot symptom? Where can I find the post procedure - do's/dont's/instructions?
Thank You.

I need to buy such catheter (radiofrecuency closure fast catheter 6F. 100 cm) in order to get a vein surgery in Venezuela. Due to the country 's economical situation it has been impossible to find. None of the local suppliers count with any surgical equipment to perform any surgery. My parents happen to be in Miami for the next 2 weeks and they have to return home with the "catheter". This is an emergency!!! Thank you for the help!!

I had the ClosureFast procedure 4 weeks ago. I still feel burning, stinging, and pulling in my inner leg that extends from ankle to groin. Will these symptoms go away? When the doctor did the procedure, though he numbed many areas, it still hurt and I actually passed out.

I have fibromyalgia and am wondering if this might have contributed to the intense pain I felt during the ClosureFast procedure. I was mildly sedated with Xanax and Percocet, but they didn’t seem to have any effect on the pain. This was the most miserable medical procedure I’ve ever experienced, and that includes childbirth without drugs!

I had RF ablation to both of my legs. Right leg GSV was done18 days ago; the left GSV and SSV 11 days ago. My left leg is now larger than my right! I am not experiencing any abnormal discomfort or symptoms that would make me think it's a DVT. I am wearing compression stockings during the day, walking constantly and elevating my legs several times a day.
