Had 1st sclero appt 6 days ago. When I removed compression after 72hrs, some veins had faded away nicely, but the ones near my knees look no different despite being injected. Is there hope for fading? I'm worried as they are not darker or inflamed. Thank
Most spider veins, when treated, should start to fade away relatively quickly like those that you mentioned. If the vessels around your knees have not changed after a week, they probably will not. Most patients require multiple treatments to effectively eliminate their spider veins. The one treatment that you have had to date probably is not enough to accomplish what you want to accomplish.

In general, it may take several (at least 3-4) weeks before you can appreciate the benefits following spider vein treatment. I would try and be patient for that period of time to fully evaluate which spider veins were
treated successfully or not. After 2-3 months, it is not likely that any other spiders will be 'reabsorbed' over time.

It takes at least a month for the veins to fade.

Since the sclero is a liquid, sometimes it does not stay in all the veins that someone may want treated. Typically, in order to treat spider veins effectively, 2-3 sessions of injections are usually required.

They may fade depending on the sclerosant used. It will take another 1-2 weeks to know. Sometimes some veins need to be reinjected.

3-5 treatments are the average number of treatments it can take to clear an area of veins. The "feeder" or reticular veins into these areas must also be treated using transillumination (special light in a darkened room).
I always tell my patients that the first two treatments (about 4 weeks apart) are equally important and not all veins respond 100% in one treatment.
Response varies from person to person also. I do recommend wearing the compression during the day for an extra 3-4 days. 6 days post-treatment is also very early.

Sclerotherapy is a weeks-long process that may require multiple treatments of multiple veins to dissolve. I recommend waiting 6 weeks between treatments. It is way too early to see results for you. In general, some veins will dissolve within one week, while others will dissolve over 6 weeks and others will not dissolve at all.

As always, follow up with your treating doc. But I can reassure you that it's way too early to expect resolution of the veins. Wait 4-6 weeks. Many veins may need additional injection(s).

Yes.

Yes, they can fade more, but may take 2-3 months to fully resolve. Talk to your MD about this.

It is common that many spider veins will not disappear after a single sclerotherapy treatment; therefore, you may need to have them retreated.
