What treatment will get rid of spider veins?

I have multiple spider veins on both legs as a result of standing on cement floors for over 30 years. Can I get help to improve the look of my legs?

It is important that you are checked out by a vein specialist to see if you have any underlying reflux or leaking in your veins that could be leading to your spider veins. If they are isolated spider veins, they can definitely be improved upon with sclerotherapy, which is a minor office procedure where a drug is injected into the veins causing them to scar down and close.

The first thing that you need to have done is a venous ultrasound of the legs to determine if you have underlying venous reflux disease. If your problem is only cosmetic and your ultrasound is normal, then you may be a good candidate for sclerotherapy of the spider veins. If your ultrasound shows underlying disease, you need to have that treated first before dealing with the spider veins. I recommend seeing a reputable vein specialist who can help you find the best treatment options.

The gold standard for spider vein treatment is sclerotherapy. I use foam and either sodium tetradecyl or policdocanol. Usually several treatments are required.

I have noticed most doctors shy away from Venaseal or Clarivien, and always offer EVLA or EVLT? Aren't the other procedures less invasive? Is there an insurance issue there?

Still have pain and bulging. Had GSV done by previous surgeon who performed microphlebectomies, but my veins still hurt. They did another ultrasound and saw my LSV had VI! They did ClariVein from my ankle up to where the other doctor began below my knee. I have some numbness near my ankle, which was why he did ClariVein and not VNUS, but I am numb anyway. Now, calf veins are still bulging and I have some new ones! Nurse said come back in six months but they tingle. What should I do?

It looks like it's drying up, but not actually. My doctor says it's normal but it's been around 3 months and I see no improvement. I'm on blood thinners for last 40 days as my doc stated there is a clot. It now looks like the clot is gone because I have no swelling or pain apart from the intense pain due to the wound. I'm not sure what do I do. I have spent a lot to get cured but unfortunately things have not worked.

I’m a 45-year-old male who had ClariVein treatment on his GSV (both legs) and SSV (right leg). After 6 weeks, I still had a lot of heaviness. The ultrasound technician said I had several other veins in my rt leg by my ankle that were refluxing. They injected some with foam sclerotherapy and now, 3 weeks later, my foot feels heavy and numb. Another ultrasound saw more refluxing veins near my ankle. My symptoms are worse than before I had anything done.
