Deep Vein Thrombosis Treatment Questions

After DVT detection, when is it recommended to continue rehabilitation for a soleus and gastrocnemius tear?
Deep Vein Thrombosis Treatment -1 answer
I had a calf tear (multifibrillar on soleus and external gastrocnemius) and a big hematoma (9 x 6 x 3 cm). One month later, a DVT was detected on the gastrocnemius vein in the same leg. My question is, when can I return to the rehabilitation program for the tear?

Can you tell me if having great calf pain still after 6 weeks on Eliquis for a gastrocnemius blood clot is likely?
Deep Vein Thrombosis Treatment -1 answer
Difficulty walking. Painful jolts in calf. I'm praying it's not nerve damage. Injury date (slipped onto our dock) was 8/7/18. Diagnosed with a clot 8/31/18. 3 ultrasound over these 6 weeks show the clot is the same size. Wondering could all this pain still be from clot? I'm very frustrated. Thank you for your help.

I was diagnosed with DVT 1 week ago. I have blood clots in my left lower calf and take Xarelto. Do you recommend compression stockings?
Deep Vein Thrombosis Treatment -1 answer
I had a stress fracture on my left upper shinbone a few weeks ago and blood clots formed as a result of leg inactivity. I’ve been suffering from frequent muscle spasms a day and heard that compression stocking may help. I also heard that compression stocking may break blood clots loose, which may result in PE. Does compression stocking really help or harm by breaking blood clots loose??

What's your advice for a long-haul flight if I have a history of medial gastrocnemius vein thrombosis that is aggravated by air travel?
Deep Vein Thrombosis Treatment -1 answer
A recent history of medial gastrocnemius vein thrombosis without any extension into the deep veins, provoked by air travel, treated with Rivaroxaban for 3 months. I am a mid-age male, physically active, no regular medication or any other health issues. What would be your advice for my next upcoming long-haul flight?

The flight socks I bought are causing pain inside my knee. Is there an alternative that would not dig in under my knee when sitting?
Deep Vein Thrombosis Treatment -1 answer
I don't have DVT, but most of the females in my family do. I am flying for 7 hours, followed by a 12-hour stop over & another 6 hr flight.. I bought a pair of flight socks (XL), which were measured and advised. They were still super tight, but bearable. After a few minutes, I had bad pain inside my knee, where the top of the sock finished and was cutting in. Can you advise an alternative please? Many thanks!

I am a football player and I am very physically active everyday. My vein is out over my ankle bone. Any thoughts?
Deep Vein Thrombosis Treatment -2 answers
I noticed a tightening from my groin to my ankle. I was wondering if I possibly pulled a tendon. If I relax, the vein disappears on the ankle bone. If I am active it comes out. I had a blood clot in my other calf last year but was treated for it. I kick with this foot and sometimes the ball hits off my ankle. I was worried it could be a blood clot. Any thoughts? Thank you.

Can my DVT had been caused from sitting on my leg over many years? Despite working a lot less lately, a DVT formed. Years of accumulated damage?
Deep Vein Thrombosis Treatment -2 answers
For many years I have sat at my desk with my right leg tucked under my left leg. My right ankle was right below my left thigh slightly down from the buttocks. My left foot was on the floor, with the right leg bent at the knee and foot tucked under. I sat this way for years with no probs. The desk chair was a mesh material (not padded). The DVT is on the right leg below the knee. Oddly, the DVT developed in a time when I was still working but nowhere as much as previous years.

I had triple DVT's in both legs 30 years ago. Recently I had a rapid increase in the number of surface veins and phlebitis—worried.

I'm anti-coagulated with Warfarin and control my dosage at home with a blood test device. The initial DVT's were caused by bed rest after sciatica and a genetic protein S deficiency. I have been active working as a carpenter/cabinet maker. I went to ultrasound about six months ago and was told that the damage was consistent with my DVT diagnosis yet I am positive that I am experiencing a rapid deterioration in my condition over the last months. I am worried about quality of life/work/future.

I have very heavy pain from my ankle to my knee. The ankle is swollen heavily and it hurts even if I lay down. I can hardly walk to the bathroom as the pain is so heavy. I've been to my doctor and he said it's just inflammation. But I doubt it as the pain gets worse.

6 weeks after DVT diagnosis (injury immobilization) I have terrible feelings of leg heaviness. Is it PTS or venous reflux or can it be injury related?
Deep Vein Thrombosis Treatment -1 answer
I had a knee injury. After immobilization I got DVT and after 2 weeks I started working on my thigh strengthening and knee flexion. After another 3 weeks I stopped using crutches but now I feel terrible leg heaviness. It is getting worse with each day. I wear compression stocking since day one. Actually when I take them off it feels little better.

I have said he should call a doctor immediately. He said it will be fine until tomorrow morning when he goes to hospital for an oncology appointment so I'm worried.

Which compression class is best for me? I wear Medi DuoMed stockings. How much pressure at the ankle is best?
Deep Vein Thrombosis Treatment -1 answer
I had DVT-PE 2 years back, a clot in the full leg that is now dissolved. But I'm on lifetime therapy of acitrom. Lupus anticoagulant present. Please suggest which pressure value stockings are best for me. I wear Medi DuoMed. When I do not wear it first in the morning, my leg hurts. Otherwise my leg health is normal.

I suffered a DVT 2 weeks ago. My knee is still so swollen that I can't walk without crutches. How can both problems be treated simultaneously?
Deep Vein Thrombosis Treatment -1 answer
I am injecting myself 12/12 hours with blood thinners. My vascular surgeon said I have to walk unaided but my knee is still so swollen, I can neither straighten nor bend my knee. Also I can't support my own weight to walk.
