Sometimes a nerve is irritated and can cause pain longer than normal. Sometimes the energy is high and can irritate the surrounding tissues. I would return to your doctor and discuss with them.

After a venefit or laser procedure for vein treatments is performed, it takes a little time for the vein to heal. Three months post-treatment, however, is a little long. Usually, you are talking a few weeks. In your case, my guess would be that your vein either partially reopened or you have some trapped blood in a portion of your treated vein. The result is localized inflammation that can definitely explain your discomfort. A simple duplex ultrasound of your leg can show you the cause. This is also why limiting vein treatments to only a venefit procedure or a laser procedure of your saphenous vein is not adequate care. You also need to address any tributaries or branches that may also be refluxing within the leg in order to make the treatment more beneficial. This is also why follow ups post-treatment are critical to vein treatment success.

That is not normal. I would get another ultrasound exam and possibly a second opinion.

I had the Venefit procedure four weeks ago for varicose veins (saphenous vein). My CEAP score was 2. I am still feeling soreness on the inner thigh. It has improved, but the soreness is still there. The vascular surgeon did an ultrasound 8 days after the procedure and there was no DVT. Will this soreness ever go away? I never had leg discomfort before the procedure unless I was standing for long periods of time. Now my leg is sore all the time. Surgeon said it will go away. When?

One leg had a very small vein. After a closure and 2 stents, I have nerve pain, new veins, abdominal pain, and can't stand up/walk upright. The closure was 11 months ago; 7 months with swelling and pain in shins. The nurses treated me and last saw the doc 5 months ago. I feel betrayed that he told me new veins "happen" and I would have to pay for cosmetic treatment. I am worse off, tired and believe the 2 stents were unnecessary for a "valve" problem in one leg. I was not shown the US either.
