I stand more than 8 hours a day at my job. If I do Venefit, how many weeks after can I go back to work?

Zero weeks. In fact, you could go straight to work after the procedure. Well-fitted compression stockings, while standing at work, are a 100% must after the procedure, for at least 10 days. Actually, moving around frequently while standing is better than standing still.

Many vein specialists have their own post-treatment protocol, so it's important to follow the instructions of your doctor. For my patients that undergo a thermal ablation venous procedure, I give them the day off of work so that they can apply ice packs over the site of treatment, and so that they can periodically walk around during the day. If my patients have a job where they can periodically walk throughout their work shift, I allow them to go back to work in two days. Thermal ablation procedures (e.g. Venefit) were developed to treat varicose veins and have little to no downtime. It is safer for a patient to stay active after venous procedures as this will decrease the risks of blood clots. There are rare circumstances where a patient may develop post-treatment inflammation, requiring time off of work, but this is the exception. I have had patients return to work the same day as the procedure and do just fine. However, I now encourage at least one day off mainly for icing, periodic slow walking, and elevation of their treated leg.

Most people return to work within a day or so. Some go back to work the same day. Discuss this with your doctor, as the recommendation may be different based on your individual circumstance(s).

We have people go back to work the same day or the next day. If your job is strenuous, or if there are other health factors, you may want to take up to a week or so off before returning back to work. I would recommend you discuss this with your doctor.

Venous insufficiency due to abnormal, incompetent valves frequently causes leg pain, swelling, tiredness and even painful varicosities. Venefit, and other venous closure devices, are designed to seal the abnormal vein, thereby redirecting the blood towards the deeper system. The process helps reduce leg symptoms. Nearly all patients may return to work the next day with minimal discomfort. Most procedures are done in the office or outpatient surgery center.

You should be able to return to work within 24 to 48 hours. If you are sore, then 3 to 4 days would be sufficient, but most of my patients return to work within 1 to 2 days, not weeks.

99% of my patients who have VNUS or EVLT. go back to work immediately after the procedure or the next morning. There is no need to take time off from work. The only restriction I give my patient is TO NOT LIFT anything > 40 pounds for 2 days.

I had the Venefit procedure four weeks ago for varicose veins (saphenous vein). My CEAP score was 2. I am still feeling soreness on the inner thigh. It has improved, but the soreness is still there. The vascular surgeon did an ultrasound 8 days after the procedure and there was no DVT. Will this soreness ever go away? I never had leg discomfort before the procedure unless I was standing for long periods of time. Now my leg is sore all the time. Surgeon said it will go away. When?

One leg had a very small vein. After a closure and 2 stents, I have nerve pain, new veins, abdominal pain, and can't stand up/walk upright. The closure was 11 months ago; 7 months with swelling and pain in shins. The nurses treated me and last saw the doc 5 months ago. I feel betrayed that he told me new veins "happen" and I would have to pay for cosmetic treatment. I am worse off, tired and believe the 2 stents were unnecessary for a "valve" problem in one leg. I was not shown the US either.
