I had sclerotherapy 6 months ago and still have some pea-sized clots. Will these go away or should I have them treated somehow?

I had sclerotherapy in May. Since the procedure, I've developed pea-sized clots. I also still have small brown spots at the injection sites. Will these go away or should I have them treated somehow? They are sore to touch.

Those spots eventually fade away in the absolue majority of cases.

Your pea-sized clots are actually a phenomenon called trapped blood. They occur when blood is trapped in a partially closed vein. The result is a darkened, pea spot that is often tender because the retained blood causes localized inflammation. The reason you got all these spots is because your spider veins were not treated correctly. Your doc did not treat what is feeding into them first. Unfortunately, this means that your doc probably is not that well versed in vein treatments. A well trained sclerotherapist tends to get very little of this trapped blood. To get rid of them, the doc need to aspirate them out and retreat.

That is common after sclerotherapy. They may go away on their own. Often we drain the retained coagulum / trapped blood to enhance and speed up the resolution. If you want that done it is better to do it sooner rather than later.
