My leg is swollen after sclerotherapy. Is this serious? Common? What should I do?
I have minor varicose veins. After having sclerotherapy yesterday, my leg began to swell. Is this common? Serious? Could the bandage/dressing that was placed around my leg be the cause? What can be done to alleviate the inflammation?

Normally, the leg should not swell after sclerotherapy. The most common cause of such early swelling would be related to the bandage, which may not have been wrapped evenly. There could be other causes, but I would take off the bandage and reapply it, starting from the base of the toes up. For inflammation, take ibuprofen. If worsening, then follow up with your treating physician.
