It is possible that you have varicose veins that are causing some of the pain in your legs. The best next step would be to schedule an evaluation where an ultrasound can be performed to find out if there is something that can be treated to make your left leg feel better.

Varicose vein are typically bulging and worm like, can be warm to touch.
They are mostly caused by the failure of valves in saphenous vein which are a bit deeper. Think of them as a pressure relief valve. Vein blood is moved back to the heart for oxygenation and filtering by cal muscle pump and valves. Inheriting this problem can cause a back flow, pusing into smaller veins and can cause pain, cramping, heaviness,aching. When you sit for a long time blood isn't flowing as well and can irritate veins or, worse still clot. I recommend an evaluation by a board certified surgeon who specializes in treating varicose veins

The answer is most likely yes. Varicose veins are big bulging veins that start showing on the skin of your legs. They become more prominent when you stand for long hours or exercise and may cause symptoms in legs such as heaviness, tiredness or swelling around your ankles.

It sure sounds like you have varicose veins! Given that you are having pain, I would advise seeing a vein expert and getting a duplex ultrasound of your legs (which can be arranged by your doctor).
