What strength and type of compression stocking should I get for POTS?

I have POTS-Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. I am a woman, 5'6", 165lbs. I was told to get compression stockings mid-calf to knee. Should it be open toe or closed? I need to know strength and if a particular brand is better. I was told to measure the ankle and calf upon waking. There is a medical supply store I will go to for fitting. Thanks so much!

20-30 mmHg pressure knee length should be fine. The main thing is to be correctly measured and fitted into a comfortable fabric. We like Sigvaris Sheer and opaque styles. Open/closed toe is personal preference. If you are not swelling, you can be measured at the store. If you do experience swelling, first thing in the morning is best.
Ankle, mid-calf (widest point) and the length from floor to 2 finger breadths below knee crease are what you will need.
Don't get them too long as they will cut into area back of knees or roll causing a tourniquet effect.
