Does the Veinwave procedure work better than sclerotherapy?

I am going to have my spider veins worked on this spring, and I am interested in the Veinwave procedure. Does it work better than sclerotherapy? I had sclerotherapy maybe 5-6 years ago and it seemed painful.

I personally do not like vein wave. Sclerotherapy is still the gold standard. The newer sclerosant medications cause significantly less discomfort.

Veinwave can also be uncomfortable. Appropriate spider vein treatment involves treating underlying "feeder" reticular veins which cannot be treated with veinwave or topical laser. Seek a practitioner who can evaluate with both ultrasound and transillumination and treat accordingly.

Sclerotherapy is the gold standard for treating spider veins. Veinwave works best only on very tiny veins and is not used on larger veins.Your best treatment depends on the size of your veins.

It depends on the veins. Generally, sclerotherapy works best for the usual spider veins. Veinwave, on the other hand, is very good for facial veins and tiny leg veins.

Veinwave is different than sclerotherapy. I work only on the smallest thread veins. Sclerotherapy can take multiple treatments but it should not be painful, especially if the doctor is using the newer sclerosant medications.
