Could EVTA in the thigh cause a feeling of tightness or stretching behind the knee & numbness in back of the thigh and hips?

Symptoms Improve with light exercise & worsen after sitting or standing too long. Numbness in back of thighs & hips if sitting or even laying down at night. Both legs done four months ago, but symptoms only present in leg treated above knee. Other one entered thru calf is better. Dr. said veins are functioning & thought possible tendonitis or Baker's cyst. Symptoms only presented after EVTA, so I think they are connected.

At 4 months, there should not be any complaints. See your doctor again or get a second opinion.

Yes, it could be a baker's cyst or tendinitis.

Baker's Cyst will be visible on ultrasound and they can diagnose by seeing it. For the numbness in the back of the thighs and hips, it sounds like you may have a "pinched nerve." The tightness and stretching in the area of the laser is normal but usually resolves over time.

Symptoms being so high on the body (hips) and limited to one leg, I would question if you have a low back issue causing sciatic nerve pressure. This can radiate down the thigh and lower leg, including numbness. Numbness caused by thermal injury is usually very localized and in the area of treatment. If you had a clear ultrasound for your deep vein, the doctor would have seen a Baker's cyst, which in itself is usually painless but a sign of arthritic problems in that knee.

I had ultrasounds and my left leg supposedly has blood flowing south in the superficial vein. I have no pain, leg cramps, nothing. The spider veins are unsightly and I grow concerned to remove that one cluster where I cut my leg at the spider vein area last year and it would not stop bleeding until pressure wrapped. Can I just have the spider veins removed now and wait for the Venefit procedure until next year? I am concerned about developing blood clots from Venefit.

I been having numbness and extreme sensitivity of my lower leg since my left GSV and SSV closure was done about 5 months ago and now I'm starting to have foot cramps as well. The pain is more of a sensitivity and I cannot have my other leg touched or have clothing touch that part of my leg without it being painful. It has felt like this since the procedure. Is this normal? will it fade with time? Are there any treatments to help with the pain and recovery?

Six months ago I had laser ablation on my right leg—greater saph. vein, with several phlebectomies, then later schlerotherapy. I still have throbbing pain sometimes in the same place as pre-op pain (inside leg at the knee). My doctor advised Arnicare, which hasn't helped at all. The pain always occurs when I bend my knee, regardless of whether or not it's bearing weight, but sometimes when leg is straight too (standing & sitting). Massaging internal scar tissue hurts.

The 5-6 week post ultrasound shows both GSV were ablated and no DVT's supposedly, but there is a 1-2 inch varicose vein on the medial side of the knee by one of the insertions that is still there. I thought that was GSV, but can a tributary be literally right next to it? When I bend my leg up into a position to get into bed about a 10" line in the region is sore. Also, on the back of the calf there is a slightly bulged out region of 4"x3" that is lumpy. Can that happen after the GSV is ablated

I have painful, severe varicose veins in my rt leg. I also have swelling/pain/heaviness in both. Last year, a vein surgeon confirmed this is due to problems with veins in both legs and suggested EVLA and sclerotherapy. I needed to fly long haul 1-month after and due to having small phlebitis on my right varicose vein, she said my risk of DVT is higher and to wait 6 months to fly long haul. I backed out of the treatment. Now things are worse. How soon can I fly in my case? I'm 28 years old.
