Can you have sclerotherapy after a DVT and PE if you no longer are taking warfarin?

I had a previous diagnosis of DVT and PE, but am fully recovered and no longer taking warfarin or other medication. I have some unsightly spider veins and wanted to know if sclerotherapy is contraindicated with my previous diagnoses.

Simple sclerotherapy should not be a problem.

Not contraindicated unless you have a thrombophilic disorder (e.g. acquired or congenital clotting disorder).

There is no contradiction to sclerotherapy. I would be interested to know if you were tested for clotting disorders.

Sclerotherapy is not contraindicated with your history of prior DVT and PE treated with warfarin and now off warfarin. In addition to this, I do treat patients while on warfarin with sclerotherapy, but this requires more attention to post-treatment compression, and I use a topical cream as an aid against bruising.
