Venefit in Las Vegas, Nevada (NV)
Formerly known as the VNUS Closure procedure, Venefit treats varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) by deploying radiofrequency energy directly into the vein and collapsing it with heat, similar to endovenous laser ablation.
If you have varicose veins, Venefit may be the treatment for you.
How Venefit works
Venefit is an outpatient procedure that requires regional or local anesthesia. You will receive a small incision (typically below your knee) where a thin catheter is then inserted into your problematic vein.
Once the catheter is placed at the very top of the vein using ultrasound guidance, it is then closed using radiofrequency heat 7 millimeters at a time. The entire procedure takes approximately an hour.
Recovery
You might feel mild pain. You will most likely need to keep your legs wrapped in Ace bandages for at least a day, along with compression stockings thereafter.
Expect bruised thighs. In rare cases, you may experience leg swelling or bleeding at the puncture site.
Costs
Since Venefit is done as a medically necessary – rather than cosmetic – surgery, most insurance plans cover all or most of the cost.
