We are committed to provide state of the art, evidence-based, and high-quality care to our patients with emphasis on individualized plan and involvement during the entire experience. 

We are equipped to diagnose all vascular conditions of the body. Our vascular lab offers diagnostic ultrasound for carotid artery disease in people with risk factors and symptoms or signs of mini stroke and stroke, aortic aneurysm screening for people with history of smoking and family history of aneurysm, vascular diseases of the kidney arteries for uncontrolled high blood pressure and high blood pressure in people below age 35, and vascular diseases of abdomen in people with unexplained weight loss and abdominal pain after eating, peripheral vascular disease in people with risk factors, leg pain with exercise and arterial ulcers, deep vein thrombosis for people with painful and swollen leg, superficial and deep vein reflux (insufficiency) for leg pain, cramping, swelling, ulceration from varicose and spider veins.

Dr. Mohammad B. Afzal graduated from the King Edward Medical University, Lahore, Pakistan in 1996. He works in Elkton, MD and specializes in Internal Medicine. He is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) through certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Dr. Afzal has passed the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine exam and is in the process of completing case requirements to become certified by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine as a Diplomate. He interprets Vascular Studies performed at the Vascular Lab in Alpha Health Center.

Dr. Afzal has passed the Phlebology Board examination and submitted 200 cases along with required CME also he has been certified by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine for 10 years. He travelled to Honduras in 2017 and 2018 as participant of the Phlebology mission trip of the HHPF with University of Wisconsin. He diagnosed and treated hundreds of patients in Honduras and had a chance to work with experienced vascular surgeons, vein specialists and radiologists from all across the United States. He also travelled to Dominican Republic for Hand on Veins course and performed ambulatory Phlebectomy and other vein procedures.
